Lesego Masethe

Founder/CEO

Lesego Masethe is a passionate social innovator and community leader dedicated to creating educational and empowerment opportunities for young people in under-resourced communities. With over a decade of experience in youth development and social impact, she founded Brain Waves Development in 2015 to expose learners to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and innovation.

A visionary leader with a deep commitment to equitable education, Lesego has been recognized as one of the Mail & Guardian’s Most Influential Young South Africans under 35 (2020) and one of the Inspiring 50 Women in Science (2021). She is also an alumna of the Rise Up Leadership Programme, Activate! Change Drivers, and the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Education Changemakers Fellowship, further cementing her role as a trailblazer in educational innovation and social change.

Koketso Tshehla

Director Marketing & Communications

Koketso, affectionately known as Kelso, is a dynamic communicator with experience in communications, social media management, and stakeholder engagement. With a natural flair for organization and a passion for community involvement, she brings creative energy and strategic focus to Brain Waves Development’s digital presence. Her skills in building relationships and managing key partnerships help amplify the organization’s message and impact.

Nhlamhla Nhlanhla Mkwebane

IT, Program Manager

Nhlanhla Mkwebane is a skilled IT expert with a passion for coding, robotics, and digital innovation. His expertise extends to engaging young minds, inspiring them to explore and develop their own tech skills. Outside his role at Brain Waves Development, Nhlanhla is a professional photographer and a natural storyteller, bringing creativity and a unique perspective to both his technical work and community engagement. His blend of technology proficiency and artistic flair enriches the organization’s approach to STEAM education and youth empowerment.

Kagiso Alpheus Molautsi

Administrative Manager

Kagiso Mulautsi is a detail-oriented professional with a background in Public Administration and a strong understanding of the education sector. With several years of experience working in the educational space, he brings valuable insights into systems and operations that support impactful programming. Passionate about community development, Kagiso thrives in environments where collaboration and empowerment of young people are at the forefront. His meticulous approach and dedication to service ensure the smooth running of Brain Waves Development’s administrative functions.

Tebogo Sekgobela

Finance & Operations Manager

Tebogo Sekgobela is a detail-driven Accounting Science graduate with a natural affinity for numbers, balancing financial sheets, and ensuring operational integrity. His passion for self-development and continual learning extends beyond finance, encompassing interests in robotics, coding, and emerging technologies. Tebogo’s commitment to personal growth inspires him to empower other young people to embrace lifelong learning. As an environmental activist, he also brings a strong sense of responsibility to sustainability and green innovation, enriching Brain Waves Development’s mission with both financial stewardship and social impact.

Kgomotso Hlaka

Programme Manager

Kgomotso Hlaka is a versatile professional with a background in Geology and a qualification in Teaching, blending scientific knowledge with educational expertise. Having taught in Korea for several years, she brings a global perspective and practical insights that have helped shape Brain Waves Development’s impactful programming. Passionate about climate change and environmental issues, Kgomotso’s love for teaching and dedication to community empowerment make her an invaluable member of the team, driving educational initiatives that inspire and equip young people for a sustainable future.
