COVID-19 has brought to the forefront and strengthened the challenges that many families face in South Africa.
Armed with this knowledge Brain Waves Development alongside Capitec Bank teamed up to offer a helping hand to the communities of: Mamelodi, Hammanskraal, Atteridgeville, Ga-Rankuwa and Soshangovue, the distribution was on the 10th and 11th June 2020.
BWD and Capitec Bank distributed food parcels to a total of 300 families across these five communities.
The families were identified through their children who had previously been part of Brain Waves Development’s programs: The Loxion Science Fair and Expo, and both the Loxion Science STEMI Camp for Boys and Girls.
The day was supported by the schools, teachers and parents of the learners of those communities.
“We want to thank Capitec Bank, Father A Nation Organisation and all the parties involved in making a much needed impact for these communities, families and the learners, in these unusual times; we are truly greatful,” says Lesego Masethe, CEO and Founder of Brain Waves Development.
Together we will come out of COVID-19 stronger.
